Nicole Shepherd is trapped in an abusive marriage, where her only escape from misery is reading. Drew Endicott was a bestselling author until tragedy sent him plummeting into a reclusive life where books and bourbon became his only companions. When a chance encounter at a bookstore on the coast of North Carolina launches a conversation about their mutual love of the written word, Drew’s desire to discuss the deeper meaning in the stories and Nicole’s need for companionship leads them to meetings over coffee and sharing late-night texts about the books they’re reading. As Nicole becomes more intrigued, Drew finds himself struggling with feelings he’d sworn off for life, until Nicole’s own life becomes threatened when her husband learns of their private book club.

According to British legend, as long as there are ravens living in the Tower of London, the monarchy will survive. In Cameron Kent’s riveting suspense thriller WHEN THE RAVENS DIE, this legend is about to be challenged. Who’s buried in a mysterious unmarked grave in London’s St. Bartholomew’s Church? And why is the Crown Prince of England so intent on preventing an American professor and a BBC correspondent from uncovering the truth? While prowling through the foggy cemeteries of London in search of his ancestry, Dr. Malcolm Bride stumbles upon the darkest of secrets about Britain’s Royal Family. At a time when the Crown Prince is making a bold ploy to seize political power, the American’s discovery instantly threatens the British monarchy, and puts Bride’s life in mortal danger. Seemingly strayed from the quest for his roots, Bride’s relentless pursuit of the truth takes him inside the hallowed walls of Windsor castle, into the clutches of the IRA, across the misted moors of the English countryside, and through the dark labyrinth of London’s underground. Bride also finds his way into the lonely heart of a Princess, leaving them both torn between loyalty and love. Steam-rolling to a head-on collision with the future King of England, Bride unravels a mystery of epic proportions—one that could change the course of world history, and alter his life forever.

About Plot Hound Books
Plot Hound Books was established in 2017 so we could continue working with local writer and retired news anchor Cameron Kent. In 2010, when Press 53 was still publishing novels, we published Cameron’s Civil War-era historical novel The Road to Devotion. The novel sold well and was selected for On the Same Page, Forsyth County Library’s community-read program. Cameron also writes mystery/thriller novels, and when the original publisher of When the Ravens Die closed its doors, we established Plot Hound Books to bring When the Ravens Die back to print and to publish more of Cameron’s genre novels, including The Sea Is Silent. A note on the name: The Plott Hound, originally bred for hunting bears and named for the Plott family, is the official state dog of North Carolina. Since Cameron’s books are plot- and character-driven, we thought dropping a T from Plott would be only fitting for a mystery/thriller publishing company based in “The Writingest State.”
